The Gibraltarians
Lecture by: Tom Finlayson

This lecture will attempt to analyse the constituent elements which have gone into the melting pot, in order to arrive at some conclusion as to ‘What is a Gibraltarian’. There are a number of factors which go into the shaping of peoples’ characteristics – racial and cultural origins, geographical location, political and educational factors, and global developments. The lecture will be illustrated by a series of demographical charts and references to important landmarks in the history of British Gibraltar, as well as living conditions on the Rock in the early years of the British occupation.
