RGP confirm identity of local man who died in a car plunge fatality

The RGP have confirmed the identity of the local man who died on Friday after his car fell into the sea by the Southern Groyne at Sandy Bay.

A statement from the RGP reads:

The RGP has confirmed the identity of the local man who died after his car fell into the sea by the southern groyne at Sandy Bay on Friday May 24 as Felix Du Val, aged 24.

As is customary in these cases, the name is only released when the identity of the deceased has been established and the family contacted.

An RGP investigation is currently under way to establish the cause of the accident.

An RGP Family Liaison Officer is providing support to the family of the deceased man.

A Coroner’s Inquest is to be held at a date yet to be fixed.
